Free Living Amoeba Meeting (FLAM)
Call for Abstracts
The organising committee of the [XXIth] Free Living Amoeba Meeting (FLAM) invites the community to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations. FLAM brings together researchers and clinicians spanning the biology, ecology, and medical importance of free-living amoebae, and we welcome contributions from all areas of the field.
Priority will be given to abstracts describing new, unpublished data. Abstracts reporting previously published work may still be considered, principally for poster presentation, but original findings will be prioritised for oral sessions.
We especially encourage submissions from early-career researchers and from groups presenting at FLAM for the first time.
Submission guidelines
• Format: Structured abstract — background, methods, results, conclusions.
• Word limit: [300 words] (excluding title, authors, affiliations).
• Presentation preference: Indicate oral, poster, or no preference. The committee reserves the right to assign the final format.
• Preferred theme: Select one primary theme (and optionally a secondary) from the list below.
• Novelty: Priority for oral presentation will be given to new, unpublished data.
• Presenting author: One presenting author per abstract; must be registered for the meeting.
• Oral Presentations are not transferable. If the original presenting author cannot present, then please inform us ASAP so that the presentation time can be reallocated.

We will be accepting text-based abstracts of up to 350 words in length. The abstract submission system will provide text boxes in which you can populate the title, authors, affiliations & abstract body. Special characters are available for the abstract body.
The presenting author should submit the abstract, please notify us if this isn't possible.
To avoid possible scheduling conflicts, only one abstract per 1st named author are permitted.
By default, the 1st named author is the presenting author.
To assist in scheduling, please select a main theme to which your work best aligns
Multiple additional authors may be defined. First name, last name and the email address of all authors must be included. If one of the additional authors is presenting alongside the
1st author, please tick the presenting box.
Multiple affiliations may be identified for the authors of the abstract. You must include the institution name.
Affiliations will be automatically numbered, so please enter them in an appropriate order based on your author list.
You can save a partially or fully completed abstract prior to submission. You can go back and edit abstracts prior to submission.
Once an abstract is submitted, it may not be edited.
